How to Promote Collagen with Peptides: Tripeptide-10 Citrulline

How do Peptides treat wrinkles?

Peptides in skincare can be confusing. Some peptides can target specific skincare concerns. One such peptide is Tripeptide-10 Citrulline. This ingredient is found in some Vitamin C serums. It is a very effective addition to a C serum.

Tripeptide-10 Citrulline is a relatively new skin care ingredient that acts like decorin. Decorin is found in younger skin, it prompts active collagen production. Decorin decreases as we age. Tripeptide-10 Citrulline mimics decorin, which in turn, fools collagen fibers into thinking they should still be producing at the rate they did in their younger prime.

Clinical studies show how helpful these peptides are in reversing the signs of aging.

In one clinical study, the antiwrinkle activity of Tripeptide-10 Citrulline and other peptides were tested. Results were documented by deep skin image testing (microtopography and visioscan imaging). Marked improvement in wrinkles was seen in 20 days, and significant wrinkle improvement at 40 days! A possible correlation was also made for a reduction in transepidermal water loss. (1)
